For our first derive I chose Pont Alexandre III. Pont Alexandre III is the most ornate bridge in Paris. In the summer it is a local destination to meet friends after work and unwind with a glass of wine by the Seine. At night the club, Showcase, invites young tourists and natives a like to pay for overcharged, watered down drinks and experience blaring house music. I find it interesting how one location can have such multifaceted appeal and use. Although it emulates the same sentiment of the historic Versailles, in reality it was constructed only 100 years ago for the world’s fair as a symbol the the Franco-Russian alliance.
